American Electric Power shuts off power to a neighborhood following an accident Friday afternoon.
It took place on Tannehill Road off of State Route 146 before 3p.m., when a Chevy S-10 pick-up crashed into a home. The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol said they needed the power company's help due to fears the truck could have been energized.
They hoped to shut off power before removing the vehicle from the house.
"Instead of rear ending the vehicle that was stopped in traffic he decided to try and steer out of it and ended up in the house," Trooper Bill Duerson of the State Highway Patrol.
A grandmother and her two grandchildren were in the basement of the home at the time and heard the impact.
"The only person that has any injuries at all is the driver," said Duerson. "He just got some scraps from broken glass."
A passenger in the truck was also uninjured. The driver of the vehicle was cited with failure to control.
