Fair Caps Off Week With A Full Pull

Hundreds packed the grandstands at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds for some traditional fair entertainment.

The Truck, Tractor and Semi pull took place Saturday afternoon featuring eleven classes of trucks, semis and farm tractors vying for a full pull and a cash prize.

Participant Josh VanHorn has a 1948 cock shed 40 tractor in the contest and said the roar of his V8 engine is sure to get the crowd excited.

"It makes a lot of noise, it's a straight header so it'll be real, real loud, and people like to see these old tractors re-vamped with these V8 motors," said VanHorn.

The aim of the game is for contestants to tow a sled as far as possible as weight is added to the sled.

VanHorn said the secret to getting the crowd on their feet is to go all the way.

"You get over 300 feet and you're going to get people up, and it takes a pretty good yank to get it out through there, but if you see something past 300 feet, you're going to get the people up off their feet, and clapping really loud," added VanHorn

The top eight finishers in the contest drove away with a Prize money .

The event was put on by the Glenford Lions Club.
