Fall family fun kicks off another season.
McDonalds Greenhouse on Adamsville Road provides farm attractions for the entire family to enjoy. The pumpkin patch offers pumpkins of all sizes to choose from and children can enjoy the farm animal petting zoo, but the most popular attraction is the themed corn maze which this year is honoring a special organization.
"It is celebrating a hundred years of Girl Scouts this year, so we have the Girl Scouts logo with 1912 spelled out, 2012 spelled out and on my honor in the bottom there," said owner James McDonald.
Monday through Friday McDonalds opens to school groups for personal farm tours. There are many educational agricultural exhibits that teach children about farm life.
"We also have a giant corn box for the kids to play in, a sand box, giant slides, we've got a petting zoo with a multitude of farm animals that we discuss and talk about to educate the children about the farm animals and then a haywagon ride that takes them out in the pasture field with my cattle," said McDonald.
The farm is open to the public Saturday and Sunday during the month of September and Wednesday through Friday in October.
