Ohio drivers are paying about a dime less for a gallon of regular gas, but that doesn't seem to be the case here in Zanesville.
The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.76 in Monday's survey from Auto Club AAA. It was about $3.86 a week ago, but fell following the long Labor Day weekend, which usually marks the end of the summer driving season. In Zanesville gas is selling for up to $3.99 for a gallon of regular.
"It's rough," said Tony Viney from McConnelsville. "I own a business, and it went from like $40 for a trip to Columbus to about $70 each trip, so that's just going to the customer now. I have to charge them more and we can't afford to right now."
"I feel like I have to cut down on some of the things I do just so I can pay for gas," said Sirae Stevens from Cambridge.
"I live on the road and travel to other states," said John Droney from Pittsburgh. "I drive everywhere, so I'm a little more cautious and try to make it worthwhile, but I have to live on the road, so they could charge me $20 a gallon and I'm stuck paying it."
Nationally, the average price for regular gas is $3.83, which is about the same as last week.
