Quiet Time in the State House

While Zane State works to build its new technology center more money is coming its way for the facility in Cambridge.

The State Controlling Board released $1m for the construction of the Energy Training and Education Center in Guernsey County. This center will be an expansion of the Zane State College on the Cambridge Campus.

"It's kind of nice how that happened together with AT&T here [at Zane State] to make their grant proposal and get that building project going across the street," said 20th Senate District's Troy Balderson.

The Cambridge facility will be constructed in 2013. Balderson said things at the State House are quiet as they continue their summer session and it may continue through the fall.

"We had a lot of the legislation done that we needed to get done before our summer recess. This has been one of the most productive General Assemblies in the history of Ohio," added Balderson.

Balderson said they are waiting on legislation from the Ohio House in regards to the state's five public pension programs. The bill is headed for a final vote Wednesday.
