The State Highway Patrol said alcohol could be a factor in a rollover crash south of Philo.
It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday on South River Road near the intersection of Rio Villa Drive. Trooper Stephen Williams said a pick-up truck was traveling southbound when it drove off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole, went over an embankment, overturned and hit a tree.
Williams said the driver was trapped inside the vehicle for at least an hour as emergency personnel worked to free him. He was transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus by MedFlight. No one else was involved in the accident.
South River Road was closed during the investigation. Traffic was backed up from Duncan Falls to Gaysport.
