Downtown Zanesville played host to a car show that benefits the arts.

The second annual "Cars for Kids" show took place on Main Street Saturday afternoon.

Dozens of classic cars were on display, with proceeds benefiting the East Central Ohio Dance Theater's production of, "The Nutcracker."

"We used to be able to secure some grants," said Board President, Jodi Bainter, "but the grants for the arts are hard to come across these days so we really do depend on community support and funding."

With the high cost of putting on a production, Bainter said every dollar makes a difference.

"It does cost a lot to put on our annual "Nutcracker" production and so this is one of our foundation fundraisers right here," said Bainter.  "The production will again be Thanksgiving weekend, So you can mark your calendars to be set for that and you'll hear more about that coming up."

The foundation also holds a "Princess Party" fundraiser in March to help cover the costs.
