South East Area Transit authorities are making changes to some of their fixed routes in Zanesville
Effective October 1st, S.E.A.T. will be bringing back its Greenwood/Taylor/Blue route as well as implementing changes to its route along Putnam Avenue.
Transit Director Howard Stewart said the changes will provide better coverage for those who need transportation in the community.
"Part of our services that we need to offer is to individuals that need public transportation," said Stewart. "So we try to spread out to cover as much ground as we can for people that depend on public transportation."
Stewart said routes along Maple Avenue as well as the Brighton/Pine route will stay the same.
Transportation is also available for the elderly and disabled with a three quarter mile radius.
Stewart said signs on the front of the bus will display the route it will travel.
"Our fixed routes will be identified in the front of the bus and our "E-Z Ride" [which] is what is called for our A.D.A. eligible or elderly and disabled, they will say E-Z Ride on them or they will have a blank up there," added Stewart" "So, they'll be clearly identified."
The routes and services will run Monday though Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
