A Muskingum County man indicted on multiple theft charges changes his plea to guilty Monday in Common Pleas Court. 39-year-old Jeffrey McLendon of Zanesville was actually indicted on two separate occasions for a total of 18 counts of theft by deception. Zanesville Police says the theft cases all stem from Mclendon’s time at Greater Ohio Mortgage on Maple Avenue and Mclendon Mortgage in downtown Zanesville. Police say they first started investigating the case in the summer of 2011 when the owner of Greater Ohio Mortgage made investigators aware of a problem that had been discovered at the company. Visiting Judge Linton Lewis of Perry County ordered a pre-sentence investigation and continued Mclendon’s bond at 20-thousand dollars.
