Push for Compressed Gas

Zane State College is hoping the county will embrace compressed natural gas.

Paul LaPrise from Zane State met with county commissioners Thursday to show the benefits of using clean fuels in the county. LaPrise showed how much the county spends on operations and gas now and how much they would save if they adopted compressed natural gas.

"I would show them the savings that they would have buying their gas and the savings they would have operating their vehicles out of it and the savings that they would have in not having to purchase vehicles not so often and I would show them the differential and the original cost would be paid back," said LaPrise.

A Clean Fuels Ohio seminar will take place at Zane State to further explain the next steps in compressed natural gas. Dr. Jerrold Hutton, will speak at the seminar. He was in charge of the energy program at Hocking College for 11 years.

"He also works for Clean Fuels Ohio and has presented all over the world, nationally and internationally on gas and gaseous fluids and combustion."

The seminar will place Friday, November 9th from 9 a.m. until 11. The public is invited to attend.
