Woman Uses Kids To Hide Bath Salts

An Athens County deputy discovered bath salts in a vehicle with children on board.

It happened around 1:30 Friday on State Route 33 at Circle Hill.  Sheriff Patrick Kelly said the deputy stopped a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Brad Trotter of Zanesville.  That vehicle was registered to 29-year-old Jessica Earnest of Mount Clare, West Virginia, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

23-year-old Hope Golden, also of Zanesville, was lying on the floor in the back seat.  She was covered by three infant children that were laying on top of her.  The deputy said she attempted to hide from him by placing the children on top of herself.

Bath salts, meth pipes and other paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle.  Children services responded to the scene and took custody of the children.

Trotter, Golden and Earnest were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.  All three were in possession of bath salts and have been charged accordingly.
