Muskingum Behavioral Health officials are celebrating the passing of their levy.
The renewal passed by over 7,000 votes. After spending months campaigning and bringing awareness to their cause, the agency finally sees the results.
"That really shows that the folks in Muskingum County really understand what we do. The benefit of what our system does and that people can get well, who have addictions or mental illness," said Executive Director Steve Carrell.
The Muskingum Behavioral Health staff owes a huge thank you to the voters who turned out to help pass the levy, without their support they couldn't continue providing services to those in need.
"We want to thank the community, not only we as the agencies in the system but on behalf of the people that are served. That's the most important piece. We thank you for them because with this levy, people who could not afford treatment, can get it."
With the election now behind them, the behavioral health agency can now resume business as usual, speaking at local schools and accepting clients into their programs.
