Volunteers from Genesis hosted a fall craft bazaar Saturday at the HealthPlex in Zanesville.
Local craftsmen and vendors filled the building with their products. Genesis offered homemade baked goods and lunch, as well as raffle tickets for themed gift baskets. Proceeds from the event will benefit the new Genesis medical center.
"We have great healthcare but we need a specific building that is as good as our care is, and that's what we're striving for." said volunteer Lynn McGlade. "We want to have a beautiful building with the latest technology to match the people that we've got."
Volunteer and coordinator Patti Frame says the community has come together to give toward the goal of a new hospital, which will ultimately benefit everyone.
"It's going to make it a little bit easier for the community to just go to one hospital instead of having to know which hospital they need to go to for what specific care that they need." said Frame.
Over fifty vendors took part in the bazaar. Genesis was hoping to raise a couple thousand dollars from the HealthPlex event.
