The Colony Square Mall in Zanesville hosted a holiday parade Saturday that had one very special guest.
Twenty-five units took part in the tenth annual parade which included emergency service vehicles, dance teams, and of course santa claus himself. Santa was the last in the parade and rode by horse and carriage. Many of the participants threw candy for the kids as they waited for him to go by.
"It's a lot of work to organize a parade, but when you see the kids, especially when santa first pops around the corner, you see the excitement in their eyes and the love they have for santa. It makes it all worthwhile." said Kevin Pinson, Mall Marketing Manager
Santa's friends Frosty and Rudolph were also at the event. If you weren't able to catch Santa Saturday, there is still time.
"He'll be staying until December 24th until he has to get back to the North Pole to unload the sleigh and start visiting all the houses." Pinson said.
Before the parade community members were invited to have breakfast with Santa at Garfield's restaurant. Children who attended that event also received a free toy.
