Not everyone had the day off from work on Thanksgiving, so the Zanesville Fire Department hosted their own Thanksgiving dinner.
Firefighters enjoyed a home-cooked meal at the station on South Street. For those who couldn't spend the day at home with family, this meal made sure everyone could still enjoy the holiday.
"It is like a big family. I mean it kind of reminds me of college, in a way. Living in a dormitory and stuff like that but it's like a big family. I get to know people's kids and wives, yeah it's like a big family here," said Firefighter Levi Vought.
Each crew member pitched in to cook up the feast.
"They're having all of us bring in side dishes too whatever your personal favorite is. And then join with the rest of the stuff like turkey, stuffing and whatever we have," said Vought.
Wives and children were also invited to the dinner. The fire department also has plans to celebrate Christmas together as a family as well.
