Zane Grey Museum Welcomes In the Holidays

The National Road-Zane Grey Museum opened their doors to the public Sunday as a way to say thanks.

The museum wanted to do something extra for the holiday season and asked various businesses and local organizations to sponsor and decorate a Christmas tree. The "Celebration of Christmas Trees" was a way to say thank you to those who have supported the museum throughout the last year.

"It's wonderful but it's absolutely fundamental to everything that we do at both of our museums we're primarily volunteer based it"s great to have the support and it's also a vital part of the work that we do," said Keith Eberly, John and Annie Glenn Foundation Executive Director.

The John Glenn High School choir performed for the crowd and Christmas themed refreshments were available, including roasted chestnuts. The museum plans on making the celebration an annual event.

"The idea is we'll wrap these trees up, we'll store them for the year and we'll bring them out next year and do the same thing. Ideally we'll have 5, 6, 7 more trees to add to the forest next season."

The trees will remain up through Christmas. The museum is closed for the season but offers tours for schools and other groups.
