It's a chance to experience culture, family fun and something new.

The Muskingum County Library System is working to bring events into its walls that supplement what they already do with books and electronic devices. Monday, the library is playing host to magician Dave Lehman.

"We think it's really important in our public libraries to offer those enrichment types of opportunities, entertainment, introduce family and children to opera and plays and storytellers," said Assistant Director Blair Tom. "It's that value added opportunity that we think the libraries are uniquely positioned to serve here in Muskingum County."

In the next year, Tom said that they're working to bring Opera Columbus and The Works from Newark to the John McIntire Library.

"We're very fortunate at John McIntire Library that the community has an auditorium that seats almost 200 people, so it gives us a lot of flexibility and opportunity," said Tom.

Magician Dave Lehman's show begins at 6:30 this evening. The library asks that you pre-register for the event by calling the Children's Desk. For more events taking place at the library visit their website.
