The new Muskingum County coroner will officially take office January 7th but Thursday he met with commissioners to discuss needs for his new position.
Before Dr. Charles Feicht begins his term as coroner there are some details he needs help taking care of. One especially important factor is the need for employees to help with the day-to-day activities of the office such as scene investigators and a deputy coroner.
"People with significant background in medical field, paramedic, emergency nursing that kind of stuff. People with an interest and aptitude for being an assistant to the coroner and scene investigation," said Dr. Feicht.
Feicht does have several people in mind to fill the positions. Because he is so new, Feicht continues to learn new things about the job and several changes will be made, one of which includes an office for him.
"Very subtle differences, the past coroner I met with recently and he's been very supportive in helping me transition so the differences are not great consequence," said Dr. Feicht.
Dr. Feicht plans to meet with the commissioners twice a year to discuss budgetary issues and other details related to his position.
