Dresen threat

Dresden Police spend extra time patrolling near Tri-Valley High School.

Dresden Police Chief Jeff Garver said that Facebook has been running rampant with people talking about threats and the added patrol is just to put people at east in the wake of the Connecticut shooting.

Chief Garver said the incident began when rumors spread that a Tri-Valley High School student made a derogatory comment about a female student. Garver said on December 7, another juvenile warned the boy he was going to get beat up and that boy said he had the right to defend himself.

Then December 12, the initial boy and another got into a fight and both were suspended. The threats weren't brought to the school officials attention until after the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, when the girl went to administrators and told them what the boy had told her.

Garver said his phone has been ringing non stop since the story hit Facebook.
