In an effort to help cut down on the spread of the flu virus, Rambo Memorial Health is offering discount flu shots.
Rambo has shots available for in-county residents for five dollars. Fifteen for out-of-county. The clinic has been offering their flu shots since August but with the recent spike in flu cases, they have seen an increase in those coming in to get their shot.
"The flu is out now earlier than typically. So we've had a little run on people coming in getting their vaccines, the ones who forgot to get them or were too busy to get them," said Crystal Bebout, Rambo Memorial Health Executive Director.
Thanks to the Vaccine for Children's Program, the Ohio Department of Health provides the vaccine to Rambo to give to children who are under-insured or have no insurance 6 months to 18 years old. For those residents with Medicare Traditional Part B, Humana Medicare and Caresource as providers can receive the flu shot for free. The clinic is walk-in, they are open Monday through Friday 8 to 4:30.
