Health Care Service Gives Back

A monetary gift will go a long way for the food pantries in our area.

Friday, ForestView Healthcare presented a $1,500 check to the Muskingum County Hunger Network. The Hunger Network supports 15 food pantries, four hot meal programs and two special needs pantries.

"I know all of our pantries and our hot meal programs especially are in true need of constant contributions," said President of the Hunger Network Tom Cover. "We got this phone call from ForestView to give us this wonderful donation we were extremely proud for them and proud for us, for our community."

Last year they served a million meals and they said that the numbers are rising. This money will be to provide the community with 3,000 meals. ForestView raised the money through their "Hope for the Holidays" program. It included a basket raffle and donated paid time off hours.

"This year wanted to do something to give back to the community because we've had so many people come in and do volunteer work and we've had a tremendous outpouring of support from the community for the residents of ForestView Health Campus," said Executive Director of ForestView Jeff Urban.

To give to the Muskingum Hunger Network you can mail donations to P.O. Box 512 Zanesville, Ohio.
