A local business gets into the Christmas spirit to help those less fortunate in our area.
As a Christmas gift Pizza Cottage in Zanesville donated dozens of pizzas to Christ's Table and while those enjoying the meal were helped it also allowed the workers and volunteers a break.
"It is wonderful because it's hard with your staff and volunteers working every holiday, so when somebody calls and makes an offer to bring you 50 pizzas and you don't have to cook that's great because we're preparing for tomorrow's meal," explained Executive Director Keely Warden.
Kroger's also dropped off fresh flowers to decorate the tables for the holiday. Warden said the giving spirit's alive and well in our community.
"You say you need turkeys you get turkeys. You say you need hams you get hams. We didn't even say we needed Pizza Cottage and it was here and it's so neat for our people in the dining room to have something different and know that they are special on Christmas eve," said Warden.
Those looking for a warm meal for Christmas can visit Christ's Table Tuesday from 10:30a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
