Retailers hope shoppers will be out in full force Wednesday.
Analysts said Christmas was the weakest holiday shopping season since the height of the Great Recession. Locally, one store said Christmas was busy for them.
"We had an outstanding Christmas season right up until the last day and right up until 3 o'clock when we closed Monday. We were really busy," said Wade's Clothing Store Manager Bruce Barclay.
At Wade's Barclay said they don't deal much with returns, but look forward to those using gift cards.
"We'll have a lot of people that got gift certificates for Christmas, so they'll be coming in to spend their gift certificates, so we have that to look forward too," said Barclay.
Barclay said winter clothes will soon be replaced to make room for new items meant for those taking trips to warm weather climates.
