As another clipper storm system trudges through our region, many prepared for the impending snowfall this afternoon.
Schools were closed, events delayed or canceled and therefore people were able to get out of the stores to buy the necessities before the storm hit.
Assistant Store Director at Riesbeck's, Steve Fusner said, "Yeah, basically just the main staple items, milk, bread, items like that. Early this morning, it started getting real busy and with the schools being closed which increased our business. We are prepared, we are ready, so hopefully, if there is anything they need we have it."
Besides the basic food items, salt was another big seller, not only this morning, but for the entire winter season, dwindling the supply.
"Yeah, last year we did not sell a lot of salt. I had a lot of pile ups left and actually we went through that with the first storm this year and now it is becoming harder to get. "
Salt ranges in price from five dollars to two dollars depending on how many pounds you need.
