After months of searching for donations, the Alfred S. Carr center finally receives enough money to purchase a new bus.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles has helped the center purchase their bus with a donation of $25,000 dollars. This isn't the first time the Eagles have helped out a local organization but the help the Carr Center provides for the community was the main reason behind their large donation.
"The work that the Carr Center does, they've put our logo on the side of it which is nice for our members as they drive around town everyone will be able to see that the money they helped raise for chairty goes for local good causes," said F.O.E. Auditor, Jim Hicks.
The Carr Center will immediately put the bus into use. The donation will greatly help the center for years to come.
"I can't think of any way that it would not help us in any manner. Honestly it's essential to get our clients to the center and so many of our clients are in need of personal transportation and this allows us to make sure that they can come use our services and perhaps more people can use our services," said Carr Center Executive Director, Kim Hosler.
An official check presentation will take place later this year.
