U.S. Representative Bill Johnson participated in a ride-along with the Muskingum County Engineer Thursday.
Johnson visited projects in Dresden, Trinway and New Concord to name a few. County Engineer Doug Davis wanted to show him the state of the various projects, some that were finished and others that haven't yet started to give the representative an idea of where the county stands.
"Hopefully he has a good grasp, a good feel of what we're really daily working for, what we're here every day working for the people trying to accomplish with limited resources at times," said Muskingum County Engineer, Doug Davis.
This is the first time for Representative Johnson to take a trip through Muskingum County. The goal for him on this visit is to better understand the needs of the county and where he can potentially provide assistance in the future.
"I want to identify where we can be helpful. That's the big thing. If there are areas where we can look for grant opportunities, where we can look for already available sources of funding we certainly would want to be an advocate for that," said U.S. Representative Bill Johnson.
The county engineer's office is doing its best to try and fix roadways and bridges - but it all comes down to funding.
