Valentine's day is less than a week away but flower shops are already starting to heat up with orders.
Florafino's on Maple aAvenue in Zanesville is prepping for their busiest day of the year. Owner Greg Orofino says last year on Valentine's Day his store had more than 450 deliveries. While roses are always a popular choice for the day, there are many other different assortments available as well.
"We do lots of other flowers, star-gazer lilies, gerber dailies, we do delphinium and snap-dragons. Lots of different flowers. As far as arrangements are concerned we actually have arrangements specifically made, people can come in choose what they like and be on their way in short order and we can have those delivered as well," said Orofino.
Orofino suggests not waiting until the last day to order for your special someone, and if you've never bought flowers before to stop in at the store and take a look around to find the perfect gift.
"That way they can choose the selection that they want to choose for the person and a lot of times they might have a particular color that's not a Valentine color, typically red, white or pink so if the young lady's favorite color happens to be yellow they can pick out beautiful gerber daisies or beautiful yellow roses or something like that so they can choose what they like to fit the person they're giving it to," said Orofino.
Florafinos is open Monday through Saturday until 5 p.m.
