The Muskingum County Community Foundation is hosting 'A Night of Song'. It is a concert featuring two world renowned US Army Veterans and Tenors.
Jesús Hernández and William Chapman are old friends and they will be performing excerpts from Operas, American classics, Musical Theatre as well as Italian and Mexican Romantic Music at the historic Alvah Buckingham House. Hernández's wife is a Zanesville native and after success in Europe and larger cities, she suggested the duo perform in her hometown.
"To have the opportunity and the privilege to bring it to Zanesville, it is very important because it is kind of like a foundation for future events and for what people might think or a new impression about opera," said Hernández.
Hernández is thrilled to being the rare musical form to southeast Ohio.
"It requires a lot of concentration, a lot of focus, you have to master a lot of languages, there is a lot of study involved, so it is an art that is not exposed to a lot of people."
The concert is on Saturday February 23rd and doors open at 7 PM. Tickets are thirty dollars and all proceeds will go to The Muskingum County Community Foundation.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting the Community Foundation, (740) 453-5192
