Two local legislators want to hear from local residents.
A Legislative Briefing with Senator Troy Balderson and Representative Brian Hill will take place at the John McIntire Library on Friday at 11. The pair will make brief remarks and then take questions from the audience.
"I think the library is a great forum for these types of discussions because it's about information. It's a neutral site. Libraries get information on all sides of issues and then people make their own best informed decisions, so I think that it's really important," said Assistant Director Blair Tom.
Legislators are just now starting to go over the biennium budget, but it's something the library is paying attention too.
"It's very early in the biennium budget. The main themes are educating and tax reform certainly that affects all of us," said Tom. "We have had some sessions with our library lobbyist in Ohio, but certainly it's a great opportunity for us to talk directly with our representatives and hear what they're thinking and what they know at this point."
Following the legislative briefing both Senator Balderson and Representative Hill will hold open district hours from 1-2 p.m. to hear from the community.
