A Zanesville man charged in the shooting of his wife last month was arraigned Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.  42-year-old Dwayne Miller went before Judge Kelly Cottrill and pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, felonious assault, kidnapping and rape, all with violent offender specifications, and having a weapon while under a disability.  Judge Cottrill continued Miller’s bond at 500-thousand dollars.  Zanesville Police Chief Eric Lambes says on January 31st 50-year-old Margaret Miller was shot in the chest by her husband in their Lafayette Street home following an argument.  Mrs. Miller was then locked in a bedroom and had to call out to neighbors for help. Lambes says her husband, who was still armed, fled and got into a standoff with police on Eastman Street. He was taken into custody two hours later. Chief Lambes says Miller was also convicted of aggravated murder in Perry County in 1990.
