This is the 7th year that The United Way is offering free tax clinics to residents of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan counties. Those interested just need their W-2's and can call 2-1-1 to set up an appointment. If you didn't file taxes last year, you can set up an appointment to have those filed as well. The United Way will be taking appointments through the first week of April.
"Anyone that is making 60-thousand dollars or less a year is eligible. It is basic tax returns so we would help file W-2's, no investment farm or stocks or bonds, so it is basic tax returns," Katie Law, Tax Prep Coordinator for the United Way said.
The United Way will also have training available for non-profit organizations that are interested in receiving funding. The training will be held at the John McIntire Library from 2-4 p.m. Thursday. Non-profit's that are interested can register for the training by calling The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties at 740-454-6872.
"We have opened up our investment process this year to any 501c3 non-profit organization, as long as they are working around our community impact outcome goals," Community Impact Coordinator Amy Davis said.
