The Zanesville Police Department has identifed the man found in the Muskingum River canal shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday.  Captain Tony Coury says 61-year-old Edward Swick of Zanesville was discovered floating in the canal.  Officers were notified this morning when a man walked into the front lobby of the police station and told authorities what he saw in the canal.  Coury says officers then responded to the canal bank near the 6th Street Bridge and located the victim near the river bank.  He was partially submerged in the water.  The Fire Department then pulled Swick out of the water and turned him over to the Muskingum County Cororner's Office.  Swick's body will be taken to the LIcking County Coroner's Office for further investigation.  Coury says foul play is not suspected.  The case remains under investigation and no other details will be released at this time.
