Zanesville Architect Dies

A well-known Zanesville Architect has died.  Richard Dick Dittmar passed away Wednesday at the Ohio State Medical Center after a lengthy illness.  Dittmar desgined 26 banks, five vocational schools, the gyms at the old Grover Cleveland, old Roosevelt and the old Winland gymnasium.  He also designed the Times Recorder and Salvation Army buildings in Zanesville, Halls Brown Cow and Adornetto’s Pizzeria.  Dittmar was also a big Ohio State football fan and held season tickets for over 50 years.  He was active in many local organizations.  Calling hours are Friday at Bryan Snider Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church on Dresden Road.   Dittmar who was 85, will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park.
