A click will mean a can for area food pantries.
Daybreak Rotary needs you to "like" their Facebook page, for every "like" that they get a non perishable food item will be donated to Christ's Table, Eastside Community Ministry and the Salvation Army. It's part of the club's "Feed the Need" campaign.
"It's a simple way for people to give back. I I think so often we look around and say I want to be able to do something, but I don't have the money. I don't have the time and you feel like your kind of in that middle spot where you really can't do anything," said Daybreak Rotary Member Rod Gibson. "It takes five seconds to go onto Facebook and like the Daybreak Rotary Page.
Christ's Table's Keely Warden said that over 100,000 meals were served last year through the Muskingum County Hunger Network and the need for food is great.
"It's a good thing when people don't always see the needs everyday, but they recognize that it is there," said Warden. "There's a hot meal there everyday for people. the pantries are here 365 days a year. It's a good thing. This community always gives and we want people to know this is just another opportunity to do that."
Since the campaign began 50 people have "liked" the Rotary Club of Zanesville Daybreak page. Gibson said the goal is to reach 200. The campaign wraps up March 28.
