FThe Southeast Ohio 211 Call Center received around 1200 calls in February from residents in Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties. Most residents were interested in information about financial counseling, information services, utility and income assistance and health and medical concerns.

"Maybe you have questions, maybe you're looking for funding, or maybe you just need help. But, it is a line that you can call at any time of the day and be able to ask those questions and somebody's going to say, if we don't have that in our data base, we'll find out for you," said 211 Call Center Manager Audrey Foster.

You can also contact the call center about community events, educational programs, volunteer opportunities, housing and shelter, and about free tax preparation services.

"We are handling the financial counseling and that includes our tax preparation clinics that we have here at United Way. The 211 call center is a service from United Way of Muskingum, Morgan, and Perry County, they provide that service for the community,"

The United Way is accepting appointments for federal and state tax clinics through the first week of April. You can set up an appointment by calling 211.
