The accident involving a car and truck happened around 5:15p.m. on Gene Cox Memorial Drive just east of Dresden. Fire crews and a MedFlight helicopter responded to the scene near a crop field.
"It appears that the Dodge truck was backing out of this farm field. It was in the middle of the road when the Honda came over the rise from the railroad crossing and the Honda was unable to stop to avoid hitting the truck," said Bill Duerson of The Ohio State Highway Patrol.
A total of four people were injured in the accident. Two were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital and one was MedFlighted to The Ohio State Medical Center. The driver of the truck was taken to Genesis Medical Center.
"When I got here the car was on fire and the driver of the car was trapped in the car. He had to be cut out of the vehicle so I would assume the injuries are pretty severe."
No citations have been filed yet and State Highway Patrol says they aren't sure how fast the vehicles were going.
