The Muskingum County Community Foundation's Scholarship Central is giving away free money.
The catch is that students in our area must apply by Monday, April 1. Several scholarships are available that can help with those looking into higher education.
"There are two specific linked to West Muskingum students, so any West Muskingum High School Seniors this would be a great opportunity to be able to be eligible for scholarships specific to your high school," said Director of College Access Programs Heather Sands.
The two scholarships for West Muskingum include the Pamela Smith Jackson Memorial Scholarship and the Ashley Cordial Memorial Scholarship. Others available include the Tom Johnson Scholarship and the Bucci-Dietz Art Scholarship.
"There's so much free money available in Muskingum County that why take out the student loans when you can apply for the scholarship and be able to save money that you wouldn't have to pay otherwise," said Sands.
Although it is Easter Break the staff at Scholarship Central will be available by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org to answer any questions. Applications must be turned in or post marked by Monday.
