A Zanesville family loses its home to a morning fire.
Around ten Thursday morning the Zanesville Fire Department received a call from a neighbor that a house belonging to Kiesha Limbaugh and Dustin Coen was on fire.Once ZFD arrived on scene they determined that the house was considered a total loss.
"When we arrived we did have smoke coming out of the roof and active fire showing out of a couple of the windows, and a wall beyond that were still looking at a cause, " Assistant Chief, Dave Huey said.
There was no one home at 328 Abington Avenue when the fire broke out. but firefighters did rescue some animals from the home.
"The occupants weren't home, they do reportedly have three dogs we found two of them here. One neighbor
said the third one might be with them. We haven't been able to make contact with them I don't know if they are at work today or off for today," Huey said.
Huey believes the fire started on the left hand side of the house on the first floor. The Muskingum Valley Red Cross says they are helping the family with funding for clothes and food and are also providing temporary lodging.
