An Ohio state representative plans to introduce a bill to make medical marijauna use legal in Ohio. Some people are skeptical of its benefits.
State Representative Bob Hagan says he is tired of watching people suffer who would otherwise benefit from the drug. Executive Director of Muskingum Behavioral Health, Steve Carrel says marijuana use comes with its own set of negative health concerns.
"We know that that anything smoked increases cancer, increases heart rates and potential for addiction. A lot of people don't think marijuana is addictive but we see quite a few people through here whose lives have been a wreck because of pot,"Carrel Said.
Carrel says if marijuana is legalized there will be issues between state and federal law.
" We know from other states that have legalized pot, that drug free work places employers have trouble figuring out what to do because its still a federal offense, "Said Carrel.
Carrel says he would gladly discuss the pros and cons of marijuana use as a medicinal drug with pro marijuana groups. He says that facts are being ignored.
