Over 100 people walked the campus trail to raise money for March of Dimes, a national organization that focuses on preventing and treating babies that are born premature.
"Is to bring awareness to children that are born prematurely and it helps fund certain medications and other treatments for the babies that may be born prematurely here in the area," said Michele Shirer, Co-Logistics Chair for March of Dimes.
Teams, families and individual walkers shared their stories with each other about the babies they were representing.
"There's a lot of families here that sponsor just their children, if you see the pictures of the walkers a lot of them have their t-shirts that have their logos for their family members and have their team name on their as well. So it's a good way for them to support each other and network with each other and hopefully they can get together in the future and help support each other emotionally," said Thasia Schilling, Co-Logistics Chair for March of Dimes.
The organization will raise about $32,000 from both walkers and from people who donated online.
