Cowboy enthusiast from all over the world have a place to unite this weekend in Cambridge.
The Hopalong Cassidy Festival is this Friday and Saturday. It's named after Hopalong Cassidy a fictional cowboy character played by William Boyd who was born 18 miles west of Cambridge. Laura Bates is the founder of the event and says it has grown since it started twenty three years ago.
"The first event we had 16 people at the Saturday night dinner and we had to stop taking reservations today because we have 150 people for Saturday night, " Bates said.
The event showcases western style guns, memorabilia and jewelry from all over the country. They also brought in real celebrities and celebrity look a likes, including their version of John Wayne. Darby Hinton who played Israel Boone on the Daniel Boone show said he came all the way from Tennessee to be here.
"All these wonderful people bring me out here. Its always fun to get to see people I've never been to Ohio before, "said Hinton.
Bates says it's a really exciting busy event that reminds her of a large family reunion. The event takes place at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center.
