A Chandlersville man charged in connection with a February stabbing appeared for a competency hearing in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. 29-year-old Chad Brill had already pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to one count each of attempted murder, felonious assault, possession of criminal tools and aggravated burglary. The court says Brill was found competent to stand trial. But his attorney made a motion for a 2nd evaluation in regard to the issue of sanity. Judge Mark Fleegle granted the motion and his attorney will now provide the Judge with the name of the person to perform the evaluation. The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office says on February 20th deputies were called to 165 Sundale road in Norwich after multiple calls to 9-1-1 reporting yelling and screaming. Deputies say they discovered a female who had suffered a cut wound. She was not identified, but lived at the Sundale residence. Brill is being held in the Muskingum County Jail.
