The annual fundraiser benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association, an organization dedicated to helping people who suffer from neuromuscular diseases. The money raised also gives kids the opportunity to go to camp, have wheelchairs and any other changes they might need in the home.
"We'll be starting tomorrow at 10 O'clock on Bell Street and then on June 1st we will be on Zane Street, then on June 15th we'll be on Military," said Anthony Shriver of the Zanesville Fire Department.
The fire department raised almost $14,000 at last years Fill The Boot fundraiser, but Shriver says that amount might be affected because of the change in route.
"There is a little change this year. We won't actually be on Underwood and Maple Avenues so you'll kind of have to make an effort to get to the side streets to donate to us."
Shriver says he hopes the community comes out to support them.
