Ohio Means Jobs: Muskingum County

The Muskingum County Opportunity Center will undergo some major changes in the coming month.

First they are moving from the location on the corner of Fifth and Main Street to the Jobs and Family Services facility at 445 Woodlawn Avenue on June 28th. The second change is, the center will now be known by with a new name, Ohio Means Jobs: Muskingum County.

"We will be offering the same services,” said Bob Mercer, Supervisor of Ohio Means Jobs: Muskingum County. “Again, we continue to have public access computers for our customers to be able to use, we will have to dedicated labs with 18 computers in each lab, so our employers will be able to use those labs to interview and assess our job seekers, but also they will be able to do online applications in the labs."

The move and the name change are due to some state budget cuts across various programs but Mercer thinks it's still a positive change.

"I think that it is going to be good for us in the sense that we will have significant savings monetarily. But it also puts all of our services in one building. So with our name change we will show the emphasis that's put on the job seeker and the employers in Muskingum county.”

Mercer is hoping for a smooth transition with no services lost with the move on June 27th to the 28th. Also the phone number (740-454-6211), fax number, and email address ( www.ohiomeansjobs.com/omj) will not change.
