A seminar will take place in Muskingum County for people interested in the oil and gas industries.
The seminar will focus on Crosstex Energy, a company with operations in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. The company gathers, moves, treats and markets natural gas.
"There's millions being invested just by that midstream segment, just by the pipeline companies that are going to process this gas into things so we want to provide an opportunity for companies in the local area to learn about the business opportunities that exist in the midstream part," said Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce President, Tom Poorman.
Poorman says that the Chamber of Commerce has hosted similar seminars to educate the public about the oil and gas industries in general, but this seminar focuses more on Crosstex Energy's investments in Muskingum County.
" There also investing millions in the Utica Shale Region to process oil and gas and to transport oil and gas so there's a lot of business opportunity in that industry," said Poorman.
The event takes place on Wednesday, July 17th at 8 a.m. at the Longaberger Golf Club. The ticket price is $30 per person. At the event there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate upgrades at the Crosstex Black Run Rail Terminal in Muskingum County.
