Last week in Zanesville, temperatures reached the 90 degree mark and added humidity made it feel even hotter.
This led many area locals to crank up their air conditioners and stay inside until the weather cooled down. In contrast, Sunday people were up bright and early at the Genesis Bethesda Trail enjoying the break in the extreme heat.
"Today's a lot better than its been, still quite a bit hot but bearable, " said trail walker, Russ Seevers.
"The weather last week was quite warm. I didn't make it out until like 8:30 in the evening, and it was still ungodly hot. Today it's much cooler and much more bearable," said Executive Assistant at Genesis Hospital, Diana Hutchinson.
"This week it's ten degrees at least or more cooler and its a lot more bearable, and it's more of a better breeze, and humidity is better this week too." said trail enthusiast, Tina Gillespie.
Gillespie says she's been coming to the trail since it was just mulch and enjoys walking the trail in any weather.
