Prosecutor Comments on Kimbro Jr. Death

Prosecutor Comments

There's little information being shared about an investigation into a burned body found last week in Morgan County.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said the body of 24-year-old Phillip Kimbro Jr was found Thursday, July 25. Tuesday a home on Ayers Street in Zanesville was raided in connection to the investigation into his death.

Muskingum County's Prosecutor said during the raid they recovered items that have value to the case. Those items were sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

"We're hoping that once we find the results of that testing that we may be in a position to issue an arrest warrant or warrants in the case," said Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox.

Haddox was unable to share what kind of items were taken from the home or if more than one person was involved. He also wouldn't comment on where the murder took place.

"When you have an investigation like this going on we don't want factual information to be leaked out because when we interview people in the future we want to make sure we are getting information that they have gotten for themselves," said Haddox.

Haddox said they hope to have the findings back from BCI within the next couple of weeks.
