With construction near the Y-Bridge, the always anticipated art festival will be held at Colony Square Mall this weekend.
"We've kind of tag lined it this year as the, 'Until We Return to the Bridge Festival.' Nonetheless, we're still celebrating right here in the Y-Bridge City," said Vicki Maple, of the Y-Bridge Arts Festival Committee. "Everything art this weekend from the visual arts to the performing arts to even the art of wine making and beer making and also, how to engage children in the arts as well."
There will be live music and more than 50 artists inside the former Old Navy store selling their artwork. Maple says the festival is free and open to everyone.
"We want the community to come out, certainly there's gonna be something for everyone to enjoy. And don't be intimidated by art. I think that's also one of the messages that we want to get out there and share with folks is that we don't want anyone to be intimidated by art. There are various mediums, various forms of art and literally something for everyone from the child to the young at heart."
The festival starts this Saturday, August 3 at Colony Square Mall on Maple Avenue from 10 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12-6 p.m.
