A local theatre put on a new production this weekend and there's still a chance for you to go see it.
The Zanesville Community Theatre is currently running a play called "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee". The Director of the play says she chose this piece for more than one reason.
"I submitted this show because it's first a very funny show, also its not a musical that has been done here before. There's a little bit of audience participation so that is something I enjoy putting together and watching happen. It's just a fun show that I thought would be well suited to our audience," said Director, Jillian Von Gunten.
Von Gunten says all the actors and actresses came on time for rehersal, ready to work and made their parts come to life. She says the plot is simple but filled with laughs.
"A group of kids come together as spellers and they are all trying to win. They are all nerdy or different and they all come together with this common goal to win the spelling bee. They learn about themselves and each other with great humor for the audience," said Von Gunten.
The show continues next week with three shows on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. For prices and reservations you can visit the theatre's website.
