AT&T has been updating their wireless networks across the country and they have brought 4G LTE service to Zanesville. Holly Hollingsworth, media relations for AT&T Ohio says the network upgrade will bring the fastest, most reliable service to customers who have LTE compatible phones or tablets.
"If you've got that kind of fast, wireless infrastructure, that fast, wireless network, that means a business can do as much here in Zanesville as they can do if they were located in Columbus, or Pittsburgh or New York," said Hollingsworth. "If they have that technology, they'll come here instead. That's what this community wants."
Hollingsworth says customers can expect to see mobile internet speeds up to 10 times faster. State Senator Troy Balderson believes the upgrade will help build Zanesville's reputation for business investment.
"Businesses, what they're looking for right now is it, and they want it fast. And this opens up, the faster it is, the better it is for them and the connections that they can have and the speed. So this is an important investment in Ohio."
Over the past three years, Hollingsworth says AT&T has invested over $1.5 billion in Ohio alone to update their networks.
